Direct English was launched in 1997 at the Washington DC Franchise Expo with the aim of providing flexible, individual, conversational English Language Training to adults throughout the world. Developed by Louis Alexander at Pearson Education and later acquired by the Linguaphone Group in 2003, Direct English first started with a pilot centre in Italy, is now franchised in 30 different countries and has quickly expanded to 170 Centres Worldwide. The unique cyclical syllabus, course materials and face-to-face sessions of Direct English are all fully integrated to provide a complete, effective and highly flexible learning system.
